World War 2 art in rang a Sé

This week we began our module on World War 2 looking at the aircraft involved and the art that represented the battles that they took part in at that time. We used prints from famous aircraft paintings to create extension art, where we had to look closely at the colours and brush strokes used and mix paint to replicate those colours and extend the paintings using our imagination to create the remainder of the skyline. It sounds quite complicated but it’s really about:

  • using world war 2 as a stimulus
  • looking at paintings by other artists
  • mixing paint to match the colours they used
  • imagining what the rest of the painting might look like
  • painting using certain brush strokes
  • reflecting.

Have a look at the photos.
