Triangle Dance and Cup Song in Eimear’s 4th

The children have had a lot of fun perfecting and performing the newest craze; “The Triangle Dance”. It is a lot more difficult than it looks and they had some very clever ways of keeping in time to the beat. They have become very good at performing it. Have a look at them below:

The children have also been working very hard over the last couple of weeks on The Cup Song to prepare for their Whole School Assembly. We have been working with Niamh’s 4th and were very fortunate to have expert help from Philip who gave us clever tricks to help us with keeping time. He also played the drum with them on the day. We originally had all of the children performing on the cups and singing but due to the acoustics in the Halla we had to make changes. We couldn’t hear the song over the sound of the cups so we split the classes in half and had half of the class singing and half of the class performing. Check out a few pictures of us working on The Cup Song:

Yesterday in assembly the children got to listen to 5th class share some poems about World War One and play some tunes on the tin whistle. They also watched 1st class perform a fun version of Twist Again. Then they got up and performed The Cup Song infront of the whole school. They were absolutely amazing and sounded fantastic. Niamh and I are very proud of both classes.
