Sixth Class news

Greetings from Sixth Class!

Here are some of the highlights of the past couple of weeks in our class.

Last Thursday Beth Murphy and Paul Finch came to visit our school and demonstrated some simple weaving skills for us. We then weaved some fish with willows which will be displayed on a willow arch at Féile Na Samhna in Kildare Town.

During the week the Principal of the Cross and Passion Secondary School as well as a teacher from St. Conleth’s Vocational School in Newbridge came to visit us.  They started off their talk by giving us a brief history of their schools and then went on to tell us about the facilities they have and then the subjects they offer. Did you know that St. Conleth’s run an Exchange Programme with a French School? We are looking forward to lots more representatives from the various secondary schools coming to visit us.

We have also been working on some science experiments based on water and are waiting anxiously to find out the results.

In Gaeilge we have been working on some Dramas based on Oíche Shamhna and other topics. I must say we’ve had great fun with some very interesting characters and scenarios, while also developing our Drama and language skills!

Have a Lovely Mid-Term break,

Slán from Sixth Class
