Outdoor Fun in the Summer Sun in Eimear’s 4th

The weather has improved and 4th class have been making the most of it.

They took a trip to the Curragh with the other 4th class and had a lot of fun playing rounders outside.

Take a look:

They have been using the forest at the back of the school to play some very competitive games of Capture the Flag:

Our school earned their 3rd Green School Flag for conserving water. We also kept the two flags that we previously earned. It is a fantastic achievement and last week we had a flag raising ceremony and a whole-school picnic to celebrate. We even had some ice pops in the forest.

Check out some of the pictures below:

On Wednesday this week we took part in a fundraiser with Relay for Life to raise money for cancer research. The whole school were invited to wear white t-shirts and donate money. The 3rd, 4th and 5th classes went on a walk around the Curragh to raise awareness and money for the very worthy cause. We stopped at Donnelly’s Hollow to have a little picnic and a play before taking on the second leg of the journey. Thank you so much to everybody for their generous donations, we are still working on a final figure.

Here is a snippet of the walk:

It was Active Week in our school this week and we have been very busy with the various activities in the school. On Monday we took part in an obstacle course. On Tuesday we had a penalty shoot out competition. Borys was the winner and he went on to compete against the other finalists on Wednesday. Have a look at the finals below:

On Wednesday we took part in a fundraiser walk on the Curragh for Relay for Life. Today the students became the teachers when we paired up with Senior Infants. We split up into groups and worked at different stations. We had skipping, co-operative games, scooper games, net ball, elastic band games and hula hoops. Take a look at them below:

We are having a wonderful last week in school. It is hard to believe we are at the end of 4th class.

I hope you all have an amazing summer!
