Egyptian Culture


This week in 4th class, each table did a project on a different Egyptian thing. Here are the topics : 1.Tutankhamun 2.Pyramids 3.Sphinx 4.River Nile 5.Hieroglyphics Bobby gave us each an A2 page and we were allowed write what ever we liked. Every table got a go on the computer to research stuff on are projects.
The Brain Busters did a project on the great Pyramid of Giza. Did you know, that the great pyramids were about 4,500 years old. Until the early 1800 the great pyramid was the tallest building in the world.
The Mean Machine did a project on Tutankhamun. Did you know, that Tutankhamun became king at the age of 9 and died at the young age of 18. His tomb was hurried when they were building it because his death was sudden. Howard Carter found Tutankhamun in 1922.
The River Nile
The Green Giants did a project on the River Nile. Did you know that if Egypt did not have the River Nile no one would be living in Egypt. Every year in Autumn the River Nile over flows flooding the country.
The dangerous devils did a project on the Sphinx. The riddle of the sphinx: here the Greek Goddess Hera was very angry at the King of Theles because he killed her friends son and she sent down a monster called the Sphinx. Any time a traveller passed by, the Sphinx would ask a riddle. If they got it right the Sphinx would blow itself up if you got it wrong the Sphinx would kill you. Nobody answered correctly and the Sphinx became a right nuisance. One day a brave man came to challenge the Sphinx. The Sphinx asked him what has 4 legs in the morning 2 legs in the afternoon and 3 legs in the evening, the man answered a man . The Sphinx blew up.

The Crazy Cobras did a project on Hieroglphics. Did you know that ancient Eygptian writing uses over 2,000 hieroglyphics.
