Creating Masterpieces like Michelangelo in Fiona’s 1st Class!

We learned about Michelangelo this week. We learned that he was an Italian artist who is famous for painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. We looked at some of his work and agreed he was very talented. We talked about how he had to lie on his back to paint the ceiling, which took him 4 and a half years to complete.
Then..we then lay on the floor on our backs to find that paper had be taped to the underneath of our tables! We used oil pastels to create our very own masterpieces. We admired Michelangelo for painting this way as we came to the conclusion that it was quite difficult and not very comfortable!
We were very glad our masterpieces did not take us 4 and a half years to complete!
