About Our School

Newbridge Educate Together N.S. first opened its doors on 1st September 2003. Then our name was South Kildare Educate Together N.S. We initially were based in the clubhouse of Newbridge Rugby Club, but on the 21st of September 2004 we moved into our temporary pre-fabricated buildings on the grounds of the rugby club.

We currently have a Principal, and 21 teachers, 5 SNAs, a cleaner, a caretaker and a secretary who is available in the office from 8.30 to 2.10 each day. We cater for all classes from Junior Infants to 6th class.

Our New Building
On Friday 13th of January 2006, the Department of Education and Science announced that we will move to a new permanent home in the former dormitory building of the Sundai School at Green Road, Newbridge. Our permanent building was refurbished to suit our needs and we moved in to our beautiful new school just in time for September 2009.

Educate Together schools are set up and developed by groups of parents in a local area, who wish to send their children to a national school that is multi-denominational, child-centred, co-educational and democratically run. More about our School Ethos. The schools are recognised by the Department of Education and Science, are non-fee paying and operate under the same rules applying to all national schools.
