Panto Club News – March 2017

Robin HoodHi Everyone,

A huge welcome to all the Panto Club members who are already back at work in the rehearsal room and learning new techniques and routines.

It’s only week three and already we have ten new members stepping into Panto for the first time so a special welcome to you and thank you for jumping on board!

It is lovely to meet all of you, and it’s especially lovely to see how welcoming the veteran Panto Club members are to the new children.

Our cast number is already 30 children so next winters’ show will be AMAZING!

Speaking of which, we are delighted to announce that our next production in Panto Club will be:

“Robin Hood and the Marian-ettes”

Robin Hood and the Marian-ettes will be performed in the Moat Theatre in Naas in January 2018. The script is a work in progress at the moment and it was lovely to workshop snippets from it in Panto Club yesterday. I got to hear some fabulous voices and see some very hard working actors showing brilliant focus and teamwork.

This term we are mainly working on improving our technique in both dancing and acting – we are learning new skills and games, plus some of the children are currently working on a Panto poem / song which they are putting together themselves. Looking forward to hearing that!

At the end of this term we will have a performance of work learned – we may even be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the 80’s Mash-up that Melissa is choreographing which involves the Mams / Dads / Aunties /Friends who signed up to learn it!

Even though I am “The Director” and did not expect to be dancing, I have somehow landed in the front line stepping it out with the rest of them!

Guess what? It’s GREAT FUN!
