Early Closures in February

Schools must engage in two half day closures for Child Protection Training. The two half days allow schools to engage in the E-learning programmes for Child Protection created by Tusla and the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST).

On day one schools engage with the E-learning programme developed by Tusla. This programme was written to support all personnel, regardless of profession in recognising concerns about children and reporting such concerns as required.

On day two schools engage with the dedicated PDST resources to guide them through the revised Department of Education and Science procedures (scheduled to become available in early February 2018).

In order to facilitate this staff training, there will be two half days on Tuesday 13th February and Monday 26th February. On these dates school will finish at 11.30am for all pupils. There will be no after school provision on these dates and school transport will collect the children at 11.30am.
