Rang a Sé host Wake and Shake for couch to 5K

This week we were asked to carry out a very important job: to host the Wake and Shake initiative for the whole school!

As everyone knows, the fundraising committee are organising the couch to 5K fun run to raise funds for a new school roof. They thought it would be a great idea to get everyone moving in the mornings before school to raise some awareness for the run. The Active Flag committee agreed and asked us to demonstrate some simple exercises for 10 minutes in the mornings until the day of the run.

We were a bit nervous at first but soon got into the swing of it. It was great to have the whole school yard copying our exercises and trying their hardest to be as active as they could. We loved every minute of it and Marie told us we did “an amazing job” . Clara came to visit us and she told us how proud she was of us and how all the children in her class loved it! It’s so nice to hear this about ourselves and we’re going to do as Marie suggests and keep up the good work!

We’ll be out every morning at twenty past eight, demonstrating really simple exercises like run on the spot and jump as high as you can so if any parents are in the school yard, please feel free to join in. We’ll be doing this until the last school day before the fun run.

Here’s a photo of us in action:
