Power Hour in Sinéad’s Senior Infants

This week senior infants started Power Hour. The boys and girls were so excited to start. Each night they bring home a new book to read and in school they are carrying out some fun activities at different stations. They are using iPads, blending sounds, doing fun memory games and reading books.

In Aistear senior infants are looking at “People in our Community”. The class have looked at the job of the Garda Síochána and discussed the vast amount of workers in the community and how they all help us in many ways.

In the Art station the class are deciding what they want to be when they grow up. The boys and girls are really enjoying making costumes and are working really hard at improving their scissors skills with the different types of fabrics.

We are also revising our numicon shapes and putting each numicon shape in order of their value. We are also working hard at addition and using our skills to use sets to combine numbers.
