Niamh’s 4th Class

4th class have been working so hard the last few weeks. Here is just some of the brilliant work that was produced.

SESE- We integrated geography, science and history to learn so much about Italy, Volcanoes and about the Pompeii disaster. In geography we learned all about the country Italy. In groups we completed projects on different aspects of the country including food, Sicily, Rome, Mt Vesuvius, Venice and the history of Italy. All students put in such good work researching their project, worked cooperatively in groups and presented their projects confidently.

In science we constructed volcanoes using paper maché and painted them. We then experimented with different liquids to see what types of chemical reactions we could create to demonstrate a volcanic eruption.

Incredible Edibles- We are so lucky to be taking part in the Incredible Edibles pogramme. We planted potatoes, strawberries, turnips, lettuce, chives and carrots. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be able to harvest our very own crops.

Art- The children used the pointillism technique with cotton buds to create their own summer scenes.
