Persuasive Writing

In fifth class, we have been working really hard to challenge persuasive writing. We are no longer going to be tricked into believing advertisements without first using critical thinking to question them. When we watch or read an advertisement we ask ourselves the following questions:
• Do you know whether this claim is true or not?
• How do you know, or how could you find out?
• Is there reason to doubt this statement?
• What would support it?
• What would undermine it?
