Fab 4th

NETNS Article 16/12/09

4th Class have been working extremely hard over the last term and what a fast term it was. Well done to all the effort, time and insightful work that has been completed. We have been very lucky to have Johnny and Lisa teach and show us a variety of skills to play rugby and basketball. We are thoroughly enjoying the sessions and we appreciate your time.

In Science we’ve looked at the role and importance of wind turbines in creating wind energy for electricity. We also created our own anemometers and had lots of fun measuring the strength of wind.

Our class has been reading the’ Convention on the Rights of the Child’ and based on this we have created our own ‘Rights within our School’ project. Here we thought about the rights children are entitled to and what rights we actually have within our school. In order to display our findings we each design and present an idea. From this we decide as a class which is the most suitable display idea, which may involve a collaboration of our ideas. We hope to display this outside our classroom so please come and check it out.

Over the past few weeks we have been creating our own pop-up books. Here the budding authors in our class reach have written their own individual story, decided on the age-range the story suits, designed and illustrated their own pop-ups to make a visually, exciting book. We certainly have some very original and interesting reading to keep us going over the holidays!!!

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and enjoy the holidays. See you all in 2010.
