Ruth’s 5th Class

This week the students designed their very own Hotel Brochures. They learned how to use persuasive language in speech and  in text. They portrayed their knowledge throughout the brochures superbly.

In Art we focused on Pablo Picasso, the fabulous artist from Madrid. The children made a construction of a cubism portrait through adding abstract shapes to the shape of a face. Cubism was a new way of painting, in which artists would paint a person or an object from different angles using geometric shapes. We came up with our own version of cubism through making it 3-D.  The children used very bold colours and materials to add to the construction. Next week we will place they face mask in a cone shaped holder and finish the design. They are looking great and the finished pieces will be spectacular.

Have a great weekend all!
